Travelling by car

From the A5 autobahn take the Achern exit and follow the L87 road as it ascends towards Baiersbronn. The National Park Administration is located directly in Ruhestein, between Freudenstadt and Baden-Baden on the crossroads that leads to Baiersbronn. Follow the signs to the nature conservation centre (Naturschutzzentrum).

Barrier-free travel

At present, the safest barrier-free way to get to us is with your own car. We are, however, currently investigating barrier-free connections with public transport – to and from Ruhestein and to the Black Forest National Park region. We will inform you here as soon as more definite information is available.

Travelling within the National Park

With the National Park ticket

Since 1 June 2016, visitors are able to purchase the National Park ticket in the buses that travel to and through the National Park. The ticket can either be used as a low cost ticket supplement for travelling to the park or as a day ticket for use in the park.

It enables visitors to move around the defined area with public transport for the entire day and offers therefore a cost-effective alternative to the standard charges of the three local transport associations: KVV (Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund), TGO (Tarifverbund Ortenau) and VGF (Verkehrsgemeinschaft Landkreis Freudenstadt). The National Park ticket is available for individual travellers, families and groups.
